What to Expect During Treatment of Hyperhidrosis

Your treatment is designed to feel calm, precise, and comfortable from start to finish
  • Your provider will begin by reviewing your medical history and current medications to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
  • The treatment areas will be examined for infection or any factors that may prevent treatment.
  • Your provider will then clean the treatment area and determine which spots show the most active sweat activity.
  • A topical numbing cream may be applied to improve comfort during the procedure.
  • The treatment areas will be carefully mapped out to ensure precision. The number of injections and the amount of neurotoxin used will vary based on the area being treated and the severity of sweat.
  • Most clients begin noticing improvement within a few days, with full results developing in about two weeks

Pre / Post Treatment

To ensure a smooth, comfortable treatment experience and reduce the risk of irritation, bruising, or delayed healing, please follow the guidelines below:

  • Hold medications and supplements for 24–72 hours, when medically appropriate. This includes Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Celebrex, and Meloxicam, as these may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.
  • Thoroughly clean the treatment areas (underarms, hands, or feet) on the day of your appointment.
  • For treatment of the hands or feet, the skin must be intact. If the areas are cracked or heavily calloused, treatment cannot be performed.
  • Avoid shaving the underarms for 24–48 hours before treatment, and do not shave on the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid antiperspirant for 24 hours before your appointment and do not apply antiperspirant on the day of treatment.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before treatment to minimize sensitivity and swelling.
  • Avoid exercising 30 minutes before your appointment.
  • Wear loose‑fitting, sleeveless clothing to allow easy access to the underarms.
  • Ensure the area is free of rashes, irritation, or infection prior to treatment

To ensure a smooth recovery and allow your treatment to settle properly, please follow the guidelines below:

  • Remain upright for 4 hours after treatment to prevent neurotoxin from spreading to unintended muscles.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the injection sites for 24 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous activities or workouts for 24 hours to minimize swelling and reduce the risk of migration.
  • Avoid saunas or hot tubs for 24 to 48 hours, as heat may increase circulation and interfere with treatment settling.
  • Avoid shaving or waxing the treated areas for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid antiperspirants, powders, or creams for 24 hours after treatment.
